Spent 8 hours on a phantom hydraulic leak that was just a bad O-ring in the reservoir cap

Honestly, this was on a CRJ-200 last week. We had a slow drop in system B pressure and I was sure it was a line or a pump. Tbh, we pressure checked everything, even pulled some panels. Ngl, it took me and another guy the whole shift. The leak was just a tiny, cracked O-ring on the reservoir fill cap letting in air, not even fluid out. It showed as a pressure loss but left no wet spots. Has anyone else been tricked by something that simple taking forever?

A bad O-ring on the fill cap? That's just mean.

Remember my buddy's new coffee maker? That thing leaked all over his counter for a week before he figured it out. He was blaming his own pouring, even his water jug. Turns out the little rubber ring on the water tank lid was cracked straight from the box. He had to use a whole roll of paper towels just to make a pot.

Ugh, right? Why do they even make those so cheap?
