Caught my attention how sustainability videos keep popping up on my TikTok

I read that TikTok's algorithm picks up on what you watch and share, so eco-friendly posts get more views if people engage with them. This means topics like recycling hacks can spread fast even from regular users. I saw a clip on reusable bags that blew up after being shared in local green groups. It's cool how the system can help good ideas catch on without big money behind them.

Totally get what you mean about the feed filling up with a topic! I watched one video on making my own cleaning spray and suddenly my whole page was about zero waste swaps. I ended up trying the citrus vinegar cleaner from a video and it actually worked great on my stove.

That tech podcast breakdown makes sense. It reminds me of when my neighbor started a tool sharing group in our building. She just posted a note in the lobby, and within a week, everyone was swapping stuff like ladders and garden gear. It spread faster than some online posts I've seen. Honestly, sometimes old school word of mouth works just as well as any algorithm. Makes you wonder if the best ideas just need a simple push to get going.

I was listening to a tech podcast last month that broke down how TikTok's algorithm works. They said once a video gets shared in just a few eco groups, it can really take off. I mean, it makes sense because the app sees people caring about it and shows it to more folks. Maybe it's just me but I've noticed my feed is full of DIY compost videos after I watched one. It's cool how regular people can spread good ideas without needing ads or money. I hope this keeps up because we need all the help we can get for the planet.

Yeah, the algorithm definitely pins you down fast. I watched one video about fixing a leaky tap last year and my whole feed turned into plumbing tutorials for a month. My big takeaway was that I'm better at watching videos than actually doing the work, because that drip is still going.
