Caught myself chasing likes instead of telling the truth on my last post

I spent 3 hours tweaking a post about gardening hacks to match whatever trend was hot, and when it flopped anyway I realized I'd been feeding the algorithm bait instead of just sharing what actually worked. Anyone else notice their engagement drops when they stop playing the algorithm's game?

I mean, it's just gardening tips right? Seems like a lot of stress over something that's supposed to be relaxing. If people don't like your post who cares.

Yep, my tomatoes are thriving but my confidence is wilted.

Notice how this keeps happening everywhere now. My buddy tried posting a basic recipe in a cooking group last week, got roasted for using canned tomatoes. Another friend shared a photo of her kids painting at the kitchen table, got told she was making a mess. It's like the internet decided nothing can just be nice anymore, everything's got to be picked apart. So here we are, people afraid to share a simple garden tip or a happy plant picture without bracing for impact. That's not confidence wilting, that's just being smart about where you put your energy.
