Hit 200 likes on a video and finally saw where I was faking it

I was posting car repair tips for months with the same boring intro and wondered why nobody Engaged. Then my buddy pointed out that the algorithm favors videos with a hook in the first 3 seconds, which I never did. What specific change to your content suddenly got the algorithm to work for you?

Wait, you'd been posting for months without a hook? That's insane, the algorithm practically begs for one right in those first few seconds.

Read a creator who broke down the first three seconds like this: you have to introduce a problem, a mystery, or a benefit right away. Once I started saying "Your car battery is dying and here is why" instead of "Today I will show you how to check a battery," my views doubled. The algorithm rewards videos that keep people watching, not just ones with good info. A boring first few seconds kills retention, so the platform stops pushing your content. Changing that tiny part made the biggest difference for me, way more than better lighting or audio ever did.

Has anyone tried that hook trick for non-car stuff too? @theas28 makes it sound simple.
