Watch time just means you're feeding the addiction loop, engagement means people actually gave a crap. Your post stalling then exploding shows the algorithm figured out who actually wanted to see it versus just dabbling. That's how most things work really, you can yell into a crowd all day or find the five people who'll actually show up.
