I was at the mall in Springfield and saw a huge line for a new bubble tea shop.
The line was only on one side of the food court, and everyone was filming it for TikTok. It made me wonder how much of that crowd was there because the algorithm decided this place was the next big thing. Has anyone else seen a spot blow up overnight like that, seemingly just from social media pushes?

That "blow up overnight" thing happened with a pizza place near me.

Tell me about it. I tried to go to that new bubble tea spot last week and the line wrapped around the block. Felt like a total clown standing there. Cameron_hernandez69 is right, it's the same story everywhere now. My own rule is if I see a line that long, I just turn around and go home. The food is never that much better to make up for the wait. It's all just for the picture anyway.

Remember the cronut craze a few years back? People waited hours. Now it's just a donut. These places get huge lines because everyone wants that perfect clip for their feed, not because the drink is life changing. It's just sugar and tapioca. The hype dies in a month when the next shiny thing pops up on their FYP.
