Made a second Instagram account to see what my own feed looks like without my likes and follows. It's a completely different reality.
I saw this idea on a tech podcast and figured I'd test it. My main feed is mostly woodworking tools and flooring memes. The blank account showed me crypto scam ads, weight loss before/afters, and videos of people crying about student loans. The algorithm fed that account stuff designed to make someone angry or desperate. It took about 20 minutes of scrolling. Has anyone else run this experiment and compared what you get?

Clicked on a crypto ad on the blank account just out of curiosity and within 10 minutes it was showing me stuff about how to hide money from the IRS. Actually called my buddy to tell him and he didn't believe me until he tried it himself. @zara_sanchez is right about how fast it moves. That's wild.

20 minutes and it already looked like that? That's TERRIFYING how fast it figured out what buttons to push.
