My 3AM posting habit made my tweets flatline for 6 months

I always scheduled my tweets for 3AM because I thought fewer posts meant less competition. Then I saw my analytics and realized my audience in Chicago was asleep, and the algorithm just buried my stuff before anyone woke up. Now I post at 8PM local time and engagement tripled, has anyone else nailed their timezone sweet spot?

Three months of 3AM posts and I thought I was being clever, turns out I was just yelling into an empty room while my European followers were having breakfast. My analytics showed like 12 impressions total, which honestly felt like the algorithm was mocking me personally. Switched to 6PM my time and suddenly my audience in New York and London both get it while they're actually awake, what a wild concept. The funniest part is I used to defend my schedule like it was some sort of strategic genius move, but no, it was just me being lazy with my sleep cycle. Now I just set a reminder to post when the sun is still up and my engagement went from a flatline to a mild heartbeat, which is basically a miracle. Scheduling tools are great but they don't fix a bad timezone choice, so congrats on figuring that out before I did.
