My post about Instagram Reels flopped hard because I ignored the first 3 seconds rule
Spent hours editing this Reel last Tuesday about a local hiking trail near Portland. Added music, captions, the whole deal. Got like 12 views in 24 hours. Then I watched it back and realized the first 3 seconds are just a slow pan of the trailhead. No hook, no text, nothing. So I trimmed it to start with a shot of the view from the top and added a quick "you gotta see this" text overlay. Reposted it Thursday and it hit 800 views by Saturday. Anyone else forget to frontload their content and pay for it in views?

Youtube taught me that lesson years ago, same goes for any video platform.

Learned that one the hard way after losing a whole playlist to a random copyright claim.
