Tried posting at 6 AM instead of noon and my video actually took off
I normally drop my short clips around lunchtime because I figured that's when people are scrolling. Last Tuesday I had a reel ready at 6 AM and just posted it on a whim. It hit 12k views in the first 3 hours which is more than my usual monthly total. I think the algorithm liked the early engagement because people were actually awake and commenting. Has anyone else noticed a weird time slot that worked way better than you expected?

Did you check if the early crowd just tends to interact more than the lunchtime crowd? I’ve noticed morning people are usually goal oriented, they’re more likely to comment or share something useful. That early engagement might have signaled to the algorithm that your content was worth pushing to a wider audience. It’s basically a head start before everyone else wakes up and the platform gets flooded with posts. Could be the difference between your video being seen by strangers versus just your regular followers.

Kinda gotta disagree with shane_bell on the goal oriented morning people thing. Most people scrolling at 6 AM are either still half asleep in bed or just killing time before work, not really in "getting stuff done" mode. I think the real reason it works is simpler - less competition for the algorithm's attention at that hour. Your video gets pushed to people quicker because there's not a thousand other posts going up at the same second. Plus that early window catches night owls who stayed up and early birds who just woke up, so you get two different groups of active users in one slot.
