Update: Figured out why my posts kept getting buried on Facebook
I was posting at 2 PM every day thinking that was prime time. But last week I checked my page insights and saw my audience was mostly active between 6 PM and 9 PM. The algorithm was showing my posts to nobody because they dropped during low traffic. After switching to 7 PM, my reach tripled on the first try. Has anyone else had a similar wake-up call with timing?

Man that's wild cause I just figured out my cat was the one knocking my phone off the table every time I had a post scheduled. Little dude had it out for my engagement stats I swear.

Right there with you on that timing wake up call. I had a similar moment when I realized all my morning posts were getting zero traction because my audience was checking their feeds during lunch breaks and late evening wind downs. Switching to 7 PM made a huge difference for me too, it's crazy how much the algorithm punishes you for posting at the wrong time. Your story about the cat is honestly hilarious though, at least your issue was fixable with a schedule change. Mine took me months of trial and error before I bothered to actually look at the data. Feels good to finally have a system that works though.

Did you read that study about social media peak times? They found like 80% of engagement happens within the first hour of posting. That made me rethink everything. Timing really is everything, especially with how algorithms work now. I switched to posting around 9pm and saw a solid bump. Your cat story cracks me up though, at least your problem was cute not just frustrating data.
