Update: My local coffee shop's TikTok went from 50 to 50k views overnight

I was at The Daily Grind in Springfield last Tuesday when the owner posted a simple video of a barista making a perfect leaf design in a latte. He used a trending sound from a movie, and the algorithm just grabbed it. By the next morning, the video had half a million views and his phone wouldn't stop pinging. It wasn't about the coffee quality at all, just the right sound at the right second. Has anyone else seen a tiny business get hit by the algorithm like that, and how did they handle the sudden crowd?

Hope they saved the recipe for that latte art in case people ask.

That "phone wouldn't stop pinging" phase is wild. My advice is to get extra help lined up fast and make a simple plan for the new customers before the next video drops.

Honestly sounds like a one time thing, @felixhenderson. Doubt they'll need a whole new plan for a single viral video.

It's just how things work now with social media. One post blows up and you gotta be ready for the flood, it happens way more often than people think.
