Used to think viral was random luck. Now I see the mechanics.
I ran a small meme page back in 2018. Just posted whatever I thought was funny. Some blew up, most flopped. No pattern at all. But last August I started studying the algorithm instead. Found that posting between 7-9 PM EST got me 3x more reach. Also noticed hashtags over 10 hurt engagement. Now I track timing, keywords, and even video length. I test one variable per week. It changed everything for me. Has anyone else found a specific time window that hits for your niche?

Respectfully, I see it a little different. I mean, I've tried the whole timing thing and honestly didn't see a huge change. Maybe it's just my niche, but engagement seemed more tied to whether the content actually resonated with people vs when I posted it. I tracked it for two months straight and got a decent spread of hits across different times of day, so the whole 7-9 PM window never really held up for me. Idk, maybe it works better for certain types of content.

So you tracked it for two months? That’s some serious dedication.

EXACTLY what you said, danielm80. I've been saying the same thing for ages. People get so caught up in the "perfect time" thing when really, if your content is just okay, it doesn't matter when you post it. I've seen my best performing posts go up at 2 in the afternoon on a Tuesday for NO REASON. That 7-9 window gets thrown around like it's gospel but for a lot of niches it's just noise. It's way more about hooking someone in the first three seconds so they actually stop scrolling, no matter the hour. Consistency matters more than a stupid clock, period.
