Vent: That time TikTok's algorithm decided I was a 'cottage cheese influencer' for a solid month
Last month I posted ONE video of me mixing cottage cheese with ranch powder as a snack for my kids. Within 3 days, TikTok decided that was my WHOLE personality. My feed became nothing but cottage cheese recipes. Cottage cheese smoothies. Cottage cheese frosting. I went from seeing cute dog videos to watching a woman explain how to make cottage cheese 'bread' that looked like a sponge. I counted 47 cottage cheese videos in one afternoon scrolling session. Has anyone else had the algorithm latch onto ONE random thing you did and just refuse to let it go?

47 videos in one scroll is about right. It's like the internet has this thing where it picks one tiny detail of your life and blows it up into a whole identity. My wife posted a photo of her sourdough starter once and for two months every ad and suggested post was bread related. It's the same with shopping - you look at one pair of boots and suddenly your entire browser is a shoe store. The algorithm doesn't understand context or nuance, it just sees a pattern and runs with it until you're sick of the thing.
