Watched a gas station coffee machine get 40k views and it bugs me that nobody talks about the timestamps
I was scrolling through my feed at lunch last Tuesday and saw this shaky video of a coffee machine at a Speedway in Toledo, just a normal machine, and it had 40k views. Here's the thing nobody brings up: the account posted it at 6:47pm on a Friday, which is dead zone time for most creators, so the algo clearly wasn't rewarding timing, it was rewarding the weird comment section where people started arguing about burnt coffee. I clicked the profile and the same guy posts boring stuff every day that gets like 30 views, so it really feels less like a magic formula and more like the system just picks a random post to test and then commits hard once the comments pop off. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think the creator did anything special, and I'd love to hear if anyone else has seen a total nothingburger post blow up for no clear reason.
