Dropped $210 on the full Frieren Blu-ray set instead of streaming it, and I need someone to tell me I'm not crazy
My internet died for a week straight and I blew through the whole show on my laptop, so now I'm wondering if physical anime is actually worth the cash or if I just got burned by buying something I already watched.

That line about the license getting pulled is the real kicker, I had a show vanish off a service mid season and it was gone for like two years. What worked for me was just grabbing physical copies of stuff I know I'll rewatch, not everything, because $210 hurts less when you think about it as paying once for something you'll actually use again. Give it a month and if you're still thinking about scenes from it, you didn't waste the money.

Oh man, here's the thing nobody talks about, blu-rays don't buffer and they don't take the show away from you when some company decides to pull the license. That internet outage was basically a free trial of why owning stuff matters. Also those Frieren discs have the Japanese audio mixed way better than the streaming compression, so you'll actually notice it on a rewatch.

Wait, you're telling me I can own a show AND not have it yanked away by some suit in a boardroom? Wild concept I guess. But seriously, that thing about the audio mix is tempting me, I swear streaming makes everything sound like it's playing through a tin can.
