Finally noticed a real difference in how I judge fights after 40 episodes of rewatches
I used to just watch shonen battles and think 'cool punches' without any idea why one side won. But after going back through My Hero Academia season 3 last week, I started catching things like positioning and stamina that I totally missed the first time... it felt like a whole new show. Has anyone else had that moment where a rewatch just clicks and you see the actual strategy instead of just the flashy moves?

Saving his energy and baiting opponents" sounds fancy until you realize that's literally what I do when I'm trying to avoid grading papers on a Friday. But yeah, I get what you mean. My first time through the tournament arc I was convinced Todoroki won because his ice looked cooler. Then I rewatched and noticed he was basically playing chess while everyone else was playing checkers. Now I'm over here analyzing every fight like I'm a pro sports commentator instead of just enjoying the explosions. Honestly it's a curse, I can't even watch two characters sneeze at each other without mapping out their footwork.

Real talk, I used to just watch the fights on my phone half paying attention and go 'okay he punched harder, got it'. But then I rewatched the tournament arc last month and it hit me different. I started noticing how Deku was saving his energy, baiting opponents into wasting their quirks, and honestly it made me feel dumb for missing it the first time. The whole thing about positioning and who's controlling the space makes so much more sense now. It's like my brain finally turned on the strategy part instead of just vibing with the animation. Now I can't watch any fight the same way, even ones I've seen ten times.

Watching Deku bait Shoto into freezing the whole arena just to lure him into close range shows he was reading the match like a book, @leo_johnson.
