One comment on my recaps made me change how I watch seasonal anime

I used to just skim the first episode of everything each season and post mini reviews. Someone said my takes felt like I was reading a wiki summary instead of actually watching. They were right. So now I watch at 1x speed with no phone, and I take notes on character reactions instead of plot points. It takes way longer but my recommendations actually make sense now. Anyone else get called out like that and totally change their process?

Wait, you actually watch at 1x speed now and take notes on character reactions? That's wild. I tried that once for a single show and gave up after three episodes because it felt like homework. How do you not get bored out of your mind during the slow parts every single season?
