Which show was it? I had a similar thing happen... bought a series I wasn't sure about and it totally won me over.

Oh man, that was me with "The Bear." Saw the first season on sale and almost passed because I thought it would just be stressful yelling in a kitchen. But the characters pulled me in hard. By the end I was so invested in their messy lives. It's a good feeling when a show surprises you like that.

Wait, you actually bought a box set for a show you thought was overrated? That's a bold move... I had a buddy who did the same thing with "Attack on Titan" back when everyone was losing their minds over it. He bought the first season on DVD just to see what the hype was about and ended up binge watching the whole thing in two days. He texted me at like 3am ranting about the plot twists and how wrong he was about the show. Now he's got all the seasons on his shelf and won't shut up about it. Funny how spending money can make you rethink your opinions.
