Started watching One Piece from episode 1 back in March, somehow I'm still not caught up and I don't think I'll ever be

I really thought I could binge through it in a month or two like I did with Naruto back in college. But man, this show just keeps going and going. I'm stuck around episode 450 now and every time I think I'm making progress, there's another arc that drags on forever. The Dressrosa arc alone felt like it took me three weeks. What did I learn? That I should have just read the wiki summaries and called it a day. Has anyone else started a long running anime and just given up halfway through?

Gave up around episode 600 myself with One Piece. The pacing just gets WORSE as it goes along, especially in the anime where they stretch out every reaction shot and flashback to fill time. I remember thinking Dressrosa was never going to end, like it literally felt like Groundhog Day watching Luffy run toward Doflamingo for twenty episodes straight. Honestly you might have more luck switching to the manga, it moves WAY faster because you don't have to sit through five minutes of everyone gasping at the same thing.

I mean, is "Groundhog Day" really that deep of a comparison though?
