Unpopular opinion: I used to just binge new seasonal anime, but now I only watch stuff after the full season airs.
I mean, the weekly hype and speculation on forums just got too toxic for me, especially after a certain big show's finale last year. Now I wait for the whole thing to drop, so I can actually form my own opinion first. Anyone else just skip the weekly watch threads now?

Disagree about skipping the weekly threads. The weekly wait and talking with people is half the fun for me, even with the bad takes. I just mute the real loud arguments and enjoy the ride.

Yeah @grant.olivia, that's honestly the best way to enjoy the show.

My cousin binged the whole last season in one weekend and said it felt empty without the week to week jokes. He missed the inside jokes that built up in the forums. Now he waits for new episodes just to read the live reactions, says the wrong guesses are funnier than the show sometimes. It's like the waiting is part of the show itself.

@nathankim here. So you actually made me think about this differently? Used to be all in on the weekly threads, the memes, the wrong theories. But after that one show where the subreddit spent three months crying about a fake leak, I got tired of it too. @grant.olivia you got a point about muting the loud arguments, but even the quiet ones started feeling like homework. Now I wait for the full season and just hit my buddy with a text like "yo watch this yet" and we talk about it on our own time. Way less noise.
