Where can I find anime discussions with the depth of old forums?
After my night shifts, I used to log into anime forums and read through discussions. The posts were full of detail, with fans breaking down every episode. These days, on social media, it all seems quick and shallow. I miss that old community vibe. Does anyone have tips for finding places with that level of depth now?

Man, you're describing my whole vibe after a long day. Found a place like that last year and it's the only thing that feels REAL anymore.

Grace38's friend finding that forum is the whole thing right there. It's not just about anime, it's about how we built stuff online that felt like a home. Now everything is built to be fast and get clicks, so you get hot takes instead of real talk. I see it with my local music scene too, all promo and no real conversation about the art. Those old forums were slow by design, and that slowness let people actually think.

Oh wow, my friend Dave actually stumbled on this old school forum last month. He said it was like stepping back in time, with threads breaking down symbolism in Neon Genesis Evangelion frame by frame. They even had dedicated boards for director interviews and fan theories. He's basically living there now after work instead of scrolling through Twitter.

That kind of deep dive sounds awesome. Do you know what specific symbols or scenes they were picking apart? Like the angel designs or all that messed up psychology stuff. Wonder if the forum had better insights than the usual surface-level takes you see now. Really miss places that cared about that level of detail.
