Clear coat thickness meters jumped since I started in 2004
Back then we used a guess and a scratch test, now a $150 meter reads OEM paint in 2 seconds on a 2005 Honda. I got burned last month on a used F-150 that looked clean, the meter showed 9 mils on the quarter panel, total bondo job. Anyone else see this shift in what the average shop carries on the cart now?
