Had a week where three cars came in with the exact same rust pattern on the rear quarter panels
All three were late 2000s Toyota sedans from the same neighborhood, must've been from that salt batch the county used back in 2010. Has anyone else run into weird clusters like that where the same issue shows up on multiple vehicles in a short span?

Three of my neighbors on the same street had their dishwashers die within a month. All from the same Home Depot run in 2015, all the same brand. It's like stuff just starts to fail in a wave once a certain date hits. I bet those Toyotas were all parked near each other too, same driveway salt exposure for years.

Did your buddy @colescott's neighbors also buy their dishwashers on the same credit card or something? That's wild but honestly makes sense - I had a friend who bought a used '08 Camry back in 2016 and within two years the rear quarter panels were totally rusted out. He lived on the same block as three other people with identical rust spots on their cars, all late 2000s Toyotas. Turned out they all parked on the same street where the city laid down some cheap salt one winter. The whole row of cars got hit, and nobody could figure it out until they started comparing notes at the neighborhood BBQ. It's like everything from the same batch just rots together.

...and that salt batch ended up being way stronger than what they usually put down. It must've had some extra corrosive crap mixed in to save money. Bet those three cars were all bought within a few months of each other too, same production batch from the factory.
