Hot take: I heard a guy at the parts counter say 'filler over rust is fine if you prime it fast'.
He argued it saves time on a budget job, but I've always cut it all out. What's your shop's rule on this?

My old boss in Toledo showed me why that always fails in two years.

But sometimes things change, right? What worked in Toledo five years ago might not be the same now. Could be worth another look.

Three years since that thread went dead and people are still acting like Toledo is some kind of crystal ball. I've seen the same "strategic reassessment" pitch roll out in three different departments now. It always sounds the same. Truth is, most of the time the old answer holds up fine. Nobody's life depends on whether we re-litigate a decision from half a decade ago.
