Shoutout to the 3M panel bonding adhesive for rocker panels, the weld through primer guys can have their way
Did a 2019 F-150 rocker replacement with 3M 08115 panel bond instead of plug welds after the insurance adjuster pushed back on labor hours, and the bond held 40% stronger in my own pull test while saving me 2 hours of grinding and no warping, so which one are you all actually running on structural panels?

That part about no warping is the real win here. Heat is what kills you on these thin gauge rockers, and once you get that oil can effect from too many plug welds there is no hammering it out clean. I have been running 08115 on cab corners and rockers for years and the only spot I still weld is where the panel carries the door hinge load or ties into the B pillar. Anything that is mostly skin, bond it and move on. The adjuster math usually flips once you show them the labor saved on grinding and paint work anyway.
