That one Thursday where I pulled three massive hail damage jobs in a row - best day I've had in this trade
I'm still barely believing it happened myself. It was about six weeks ago, middle of July, and I was just wrapping up a small fender bender on a 2018 Civic. Then my phone blows up. Three separate people from the same neighborhood off Highway 99 called in, all with hail damage from that storm we had. First one was a 2020 Ram 1500 with dents all over the hood and roof. Second was a Toyota Camry with the whole passenger side caved in. Third was an older Ford Focus with the trunk and rear quarter panel looking like a golf ball. I quoted all three on the spot, and by 4 PM I had two signed off and a deposit for the third. Total payout was around $4,200 for that single day of work. It felt like hitting a jackpot almost. Has anyone else had a day like that where the work just fell into your lap?

Did you find a reliable way to handle all that hail work in one day without your tools giving out?

Wait, you actually tried to do ALL the hail repair in ONE DAY? @bailey.jennifer that sounds INSANE. My compressor gave out halfway through the second roof, and I was basically just standing there with a hammer and a prayer. If you didn't have a backup generator for your nail gun you were doomed by noon. I swear, those things just DIE at the worst possible moment.

@bailey.jennifer next time just bring a spare compressor in the truck bed. Learned that one the hard way after my first roofing season. Had to hand nail half a house because my gun died and the nearest rental place was 45 minutes away. By the time I got back the homeowner was standing there with iced tea and a look that said "you serious?" Never again.
