Three years ago, a guy in a shop in Spokane showed me how to use a heat gun on a plastic bumper before filler. I thought it was a hack job until I tried it last month on a 2018 Civic.

My 2005 Camry's bumper is still good after that same trick.

My buddy Jake in Tacoma swore by that trick for old Toyota bumpers. He fixed a cracked one on his Corolla and it held for years.

lol yeah @fionac33, until that ziptied bumper catches a gust on the freeway and flies off into the car behind you. Guess that's one way to make new friends though.

Is a bumper crack really that big of a deal? I mean, derekhunt, your buddy Jake's car held up, but it's just plastic. My old Civic had a zip-tied bumper for like three years and it was fine. It's not like the car falls apart. Maybe it's just me, but I'd only fix it if it's actually dragging on the ground or something.
