Blind trust in a YouTube torque spec cost me a head gasket
Some guy named 'DieselDan' with 400k subs said to torque ARP head studs to 85 ft-lbs in three passes. First cold start after the rebuild, coolant shot out the overflow in about 30 seconds. Rechecked the ARP sheet, it said 75 ft-lbs max, so that extra 10 was the whole problem. Anyone else had to unlearn a trick from a popular channel?
