I paid $180 for a "lifetime" alignment plan in 2022 and it was a total waste
Bought the plan at a Firestone in Columbus because the guy said I'd need alignments every 6 months with the roads around here. Two years later I've used it twice, and both times they tried to sell me new struts and a tie rod I didn't need. Did the math and I'm paying about $90 per actual alignment instead of the $35 my regular guy charges. Your mileage may vary but I think these plans are just a hook to get you in the door for upsells. Anyone else gotten burned by one of these, or did I just pick the wrong place?
Man, come on, that plan saved your butt and you know it. Firestone found that tie rod before it snapped on I-71 and you ended up in a ditch, so who cares if they pitched you struts you passed on? You still got two alignments for way less than tire shop prices, and half the time they'll knock the plan cost off a repair if you ask nice. My brother ran his truck 90k miles on one of those deals and never paid full price once. The real scam is the guy charging $35 who never puts it on the rack and just eyeballs it.
