Just crossed 100 engine swaps in my home garage, never thought I'd get there

I hit that 100 number last weekend on a 2004 Honda Civic. Started counting 5 years ago when I bought my first engine hoist for $200 off Facebook Marketplace. The milestone snuck up on me because I never tracked it formally, just kept a notepad in my toolbox. What surprised me most was that my average swap time went from about 14 hours down to 6 over that period. Has anyone else hit a weird personal record that caught them off guard?

Oh man, that's awesome... I had a buddy who hit 50 VW Beetle engine pulls in his backyard before he even realized it. He was just swapping them out for friends and neighbors, never kept a log until his wife made him count for a bet. @richarddixon I get your point about the 6 hour thing, but some guys really do get that fast with repetition, especially on common platforms like a Honda. My buddy said his first Beetle took him almost two whole weekends, but by the end he could have one out and another in before lunch on a Saturday.

Like a robot routine" is dead on @richarddixon. It's funny how once you do something a hundred times it becomes reflex not just memory, like how I can tie my shoes without looking but my kid still struggles with it.

Push back a little here - 6 hours for a Honda swap means you're either skipping critical steps or you've got the process memorized to the point where it's less a swap and more a robot routine.
