Saw a bay at the Phoenix Pick-n-Pull last Saturday with three cars up on blocks and no jack stands under any of them
Guys were pulling a trans with the car resting on stacks of wheels, and one stack had a crack running through it. If you pull parts there, check what the car is sitting on before you crawl under it, has anyone else seen this get worse lately?

Been there and it scared the crap out of me too. I watched a guy slide under a Civic balanced on two floor jacks last month, and I had to walk away because I couldn't stand to see it. That cracked wheel stack you saw is a death trap waiting to happen, plain and simple. Those guys pulling the trans probably figure it's a quick job and nothing will go wrong, which is exactly how people get crushed. I always bring my own stands now even when I'm just grabbing a door panel, because you can't trust what some other person left behind. It really does feel like it's gotten worse out there, maybe because the yards are busier and people are in a rush. Stay safe and say something if you see it, even if they get mad at you for it.
