Stopped using a pickle fork on ball joints after my neighbor in Dayton showed me a better way
For years I beat ball joints apart with a pickle fork and just accepted that I'd rip the boot half the time. My neighbor, who ran a front end shop in Dayton for 22 years, watched me do it once and handed me his press adapter set instead. The fork was fast but it wrecked boots and sometimes dented the control arm, and I was eating those parts on comeback jobs. With the press the joint pops in about 90 seconds and nothing gets torn up. Any of you still running a fork, or did you all switch over a long time ago?
