Turns out the cheap timing kit is fine if you triple check everything

I always swore by OEM timing components, but a customer's budget forced me to try an off-brand kit on his 2012 Civic last month. I checked the crank and cam marks four times, tensioner travel, all of it, and it's been 800 miles with zero noise. Has anyone else had a cheap kit hold up longer than expected, or am I just lucky?
