Wrote off induction heaters for rusted bolts until I saw the 1,400 degree number
A guy named Sal at the alignment place on 8th Street told me his Mini-Ductor gets bolts glowing in about 15 seconds, and I figured that was just sales talk. Looked it up and the coil hits around 1,400 degrees, hot enough that the rust breaks down without me torching the brake line next to it. I tried one on a seized caliper bracket on a 2011 Ranger last Tuesday and it popped loose in under a minute. Anyone else using one of these, and how do you keep from cooking the boot next to it?
