Bought a $400 diagnostic tablet that didn't work on half my planes

Picked up a fancy tablet from a vendor at a show in Atlanta last month, said it could pull data from any avionics bus. Got it back to the shop and it wouldn't even read the Honeywell system on a King Air, let alone the older Collins stuff. Anyone else get burned by gear that promises the world but delivers nothing?

Bought a "universal" harness kit that fit nothing but the trash can lmao.

Man I used to be all "just get a universal kit, you can make anything work" but after fighting with one for like 3 hours I finally gave up and tossed it. Totally changed my mind on those things, theyre basically just scrap wire with a fancy label.

Tbh I used to defend universal kits too but nah you're right.
