Can we talk about how we used to check VOR receivers with a handheld box and now it is all software?
Back at my first hangar job in Bakersfield in 2004, we had a battered IFR 4000 test set that weighed about 30 pounds and needed its own cart, and you could feel every knob click when you dialed in a frequency. Now I plug a laptop into the avionics bay, run a script, and it prints a pass or fail in two minutes flat. Anybody else miss the days when you could hear a problem before the screen told you about it?
