Showerthought: My old boss said my wire bundles looked like a bird's nest
He told me to treat each bundle like it was going in a glass case at a museum, which made me slow down and plan the routing before I even picked up a tie wrap. Anyone else have a simple trick that changed how you do a basic job?

My old foreman had a similar trick for hose lays.

Yeah, that "picture it on display" idea from Emma really got me. I used to just rush to get my gear packed up, you know? Stuff would be tangled and nothing was where I needed it. Now I take that extra second to imagine someone inspecting it, and I lay my ropes out straight and coil my leads neatly. It feels slower at first but you save so much time later when you're not fighting a mess.

That's a great way to think about it. I used to just start tying things down and hope for the best, but picturing it on display like @shanec61's foreman would want forces you to actually think first. It really does make the final result way cleaner.
