Showerthought: spent years tracing wires by pin number before I realized the wire marker was staring at me the whole time
Was chasing an intermittent fault on a King Air for two days, swapping connectors, until an old lead pointed out the sleeve markers I'd been ignoring since my first shop. Now I read the harness print first and clock the marker before I ever grab the meter. Anyone else got a habit they unlearned way too late?

How many of those markers actually match the print though? I've been burned more times by a lazy or wrong sleeve marker than by just ringing it out. Last hangar I worked, some guy relabeled half a harness after a repair and never updated the print, so trusting the marker would've sent me straight into the wrong cannon plug. Markers are a shortcut, not gospel, and knowing when to still grab the meter is the real skill.
