The 40 dollar multimeter probe that fixed my intermittent radio gremlin
Had a King radio in a 172 that kept dropping the mic audio only when the plane got warm. Replaced the mic jack twice, cleaned the push to talk, even swapped the headset. Still did it. Finally checked the probe pins on my fluke, they had a hairline crack I could only see with a magnifier. New probes, 40 bucks, and the exact same resistance test showed the fault in 2 minutes. Has anyone else chased a phantom for days only to find the test gear was the weak link?
