Took me 4 years to realize my continuity tester was lying to me

I always trusted the beep on my Fluke for continuity checks, but last Tuesday in the hangar I traced a fault that tested fine with it and found a cracked solder joint under magnification. Turns out the tester only confirms a path exists, not that it's solid under vibration or load, and I'd been chasing ghosts on older harnesses with it. Anyone else ever get burned by trusting a basic continuity check over actually pulling tension on the wires?

The beep giveth and the beep taketh away, I guess. I spent a whole weekend rebuilding a dash harness once because my tester kept telling me everything was fine, then I went to yank a wire and it just came apart in my hand. So yeah, I feel this in my soul, or at least in my bruised ego.
