Appreciation post: my sourdough starter went completely flat after a weekend away. It was bubbling fine on Friday.

Ugh, I read that a sudden temp drop can totally deflate them.

My starter did the same thing last month after a cold snap, and it bounced right back with two feeds. I actually disagree with the idea that a temperature change is always the problem, like avery_flores mentioned. Sometimes the yeast just gets lazy and needs a good stir and some fresh flour to wake back up.

Move your jar somewhere warmer for a couple days and see if that changes things, like @maxl93 said about drafts. I had a starter once that went totally flat after I opened the fridge too fast, and it took three feeds with rye flour to get it bubbly again. Not saying that's your problem, but sometimes weird little things happen that you don't expect.

Check if you left it near a drafty window. I mean, my kitchen gets weirdly cold spots that mess with mine, idk. Maybe it's just a simple fix like moving the jar.
