My sourdough starter fermented so hard it blew the lid off and scared my dog.

Ever have a jar of pickles just decide to explode in the pantry? Found mine all over the floor, smelled like vinegar for a week.

How strong was that lid anyway? It takes a crazy amount of pressure to actually blow a lid clean off. Your poor dog must have thought the kitchen was exploding.

Was it really that strong though? Lids can pop off pretty easy if they aren't on right or the seal is old. My dog would lose his mind too if something suddenly blasted off like that.

Always figured lids were just there to keep dust out, but a chili mess last winter proved me wrong. Steam pressure built up so fast it sent the lid flying into the ceiling. My dog ran from the room like he'd seen a ghost, and now he hides when I cook beans. You don't get how much power is in there until you're hiding in your own kitchen.
