Guy at my gym swore cold showers cured his joint pain
He told me he'd been doing 3 minute cold showers every morning for 6 months and his knees stopped aching. I asked him if he changed anything else and he admitted he also quit soda and started stretching. Has anyone else had a friend credit one thing when they actually changed multiple variables at once?

Same thing happened to me with fish oil. Buddy swore it fixed his back pain, but when I pressed him on it he'd also been going to a chiropractor twice a week and dropped 20 pounds. Started doing cold showers myself for a month last winter and honestly they just made me miserable with zero change to my knees. Your buddy probably got results from quitting soda and stretching. Cold water is just hype.

Huh, that's a good point about the soda and stretching. I wonder if the cold water just made him feel more alert and that made him more consistent with the other changes.
