Just realized my red light panel might be wasting my time at 10 minutes

I got one of those red light therapy panels back in March and religiously used it for 10 minutes every morning. Felt great, skin looked a bit better, but then I read a paper that suggested different wavelengths need different durations and distances. So last month I switched to 6 minutes at 8 inches away and honestly, my joint pain is noticeably worse this week. Is the 10 minute mark just a placebo sweet spot or am I missing something about irradiance? Has anyone else messed with their timing and seen things fall apart? I'm debating going back to my old routine just because it worked, even if the science says otherwise.

Ugh, I did the exact same thing with my panel. I was doing 12 minutes at like 5 inches for months and my knees felt great, then I read that same kind of study and switched to 8 minutes at a farther distance. My shoulder pain came back within a week, it was wild. Maybe it was just the closer distance that was doing the heavy lifting for me, not the time at all. I switched back to my old 12 minute closer setup last Tuesday and I'm already feeling more like myself. Sometimes I think our own bodies are better test subjects than the papers.
