Pro tip: Stop taking Vitamin D without checking your magnesium levels first
I went to my doctor after 6 months of taking 5000 IU of Vitamin D daily and ended up with heart palpitations and terrible insomnia. Turns out Vitamin D depletes magnesium and I had zero idea this was a thing until my blood work came back. Has anyone else run into this problem or found a magnesium supplement that actually works without causing stomach issues?

Doesn't the body just love pulling sneaky moves like that lol? I was taking vitamin D for months and my sleep got wrecked too, never would have connected the dots without bloodwork.

I used to think magnesium was just trendy wellness stuff but this post definitely changed my mind on that.

Gotta admit I used to roll my eyes at the magnesium stuff too. Figured it was just another supplement people circled around on Instagram for no real reason. Then my doctor suggested it for muscle cramps and sleep, and I gave it a shot out of desperation after a bad work week. Wouldn't you know it, my legs stopped waking me up at 3am and I actually felt rested. Still not one of those people who thinks it cures everything, but I'm definitely not making fun of it anymore. Sometimes the trendy stuff actually has something behind it, I guess.
