My forge blower died mid-leaf on a 12 inch damascus billet in Akron
I was about 40 minutes into welding a 12 inch billet at my buddy's garage in Akron when the old Champion blower just quit on me. I cranked it by hand for a bit to keep the coals alive, then ran to the hardware store for a $20 hair dryer and rigged it up with some duct tape. It actually worked fine for the rest of the weld, but the tape started melting around minute 20 so I had to hold it with a glove. Anyone got a cheap backup blower setup they trust, or should I just rebuild the Champion?
