PSA: My forge fire almost got away from me

Was working a big S hook in the heat of August. Let the fire sit too long while I answered a phone call. Came back to flames licking up the flue pipe. Had to douse it with water and rebuild the whole fire brick setup. Anyone else have a near miss with fire management?
