Tbh, the ring of my hammer became my new heat guide
Honestly, I was forging a small hatchet last week. I always judged heat by eye alone. Then I heard a clear ring when the metal was just right. It stopped me from burning the steel. Now I use sound as much as sight.

Ever notice how many things have a tell before they go wrong? Sounds can give you a heads up when your eyes miss it.
