That $120 forge welder attachment I bought off a forum guy was a total dud

Back in March I grabbed a propane burner kit from some guy on a blacksmithing Facebook group, looked great in the pics and he swore it hit welding heat. Got it home, fired it up, and the flame would sputter out every time I opened the choke, just a mess of orange flame and no real heat. I lost the cash and two weekends of frustration, any of you folks had luck with homemade burner setups or should I just stick to a known brand?

Tell @cameron_hernandez69 my forge only makes weak tea, so we're both stuck with the janky stuff.

Man, that takes me back to when I tried to build a burner out of an old leaf blower and a pipe wrench, thing sounded like a jet engine for ten minutes then just died on me. Sometimes the janky stuff just ain't worth the headache, huh?
